DAY 8 - Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers”. Galatians 6:9, 10, NIV

God Will Provide

One day, after managing our finances and saving money for tuition, I saw a young woman I had baptized a few months earlier. She looked upset in the rain. She told me she lost her job because a factory closed. She also said she and her two small children had been evicted and had no food.

I took her to a grocery store and bought food using part of the tuition money. I talked to her landlord, who agreed to let her pay half of her rent while forgiving the rest. I called church board members to help pay her electric bill. I encouraged her to help others when she could, and she was very thankful.

When I got home, I shared my worries about the tuition with my wife. She reassured me, saying, “God will provide.” Later that day, I found a check in the mailbox for the same amount I had spent to help her.

This experience reminded me that God cares about us and wants us to love and pray for others. This is shown in scriptures like Mark 12:31 and Galatians 6:2. Our prayers should focus on asking for what we can share with those around us. In the end, Jesus will remind us that our love for others shows our love for Him (Matt. 25:31-45). God asks us to pray for, love, and bless our neighbors.
