“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength”. Isaiah 40:31a, NKJV
Waiting . . .
Waiting can be hard and frustrating, whether you're at the doctor’s office or in line. People in the Bible, like Abraham, Moses, and Joseph, had to wait for years for God to act. While waiting can test our patience, it is something God’s people often experience. The Bible assures us that God will answer every sincere prayer, though it may not happen when we expect or in the way we want.
When we bring our needs to God, He answers in ways that are best for us. Often, we have to use our own resources before we see how God steps in. Jeremiah 33:3 tells us to call on God, and He will show us great things.
If God’s answer seems slow in coming, it doesn’t mean He isn’t responding. We need to trust His love, as knowing Him better can bring us peace and patience. God cares for us and for others. His timing is often different from ours, and we may not understand why until we reach heaven.
Jesus did not promise comfort in this life. Instead, He taught us that challenges can help us grow. Rather than asking Him to take our struggles away, we should focus on learning from them. Our greatest need is to know God personally. By prioritizing our relationship with Him, we can let go of our worries and wait for His guidance.
