The Eternal God is thy refuge
In time of trouble in life's little day,
And underneath are everlasting arms
To lift the fallen from the rocky way.
There are no dangers He has not foreseen,
Nor grief of heart that He cannot allay.
He bids us on His stalwart shoulder lean
And by our side He will forever stay.
He asks us only that we trust His eye
For He can see the way in darkness drear.
He wants to take us home beyond the sky,
And if we let Him, He will take us there.
So let us ever stay close to our Guide;
Nor let fear keep us from His narrow way,
Or tempter cause our feet to turn aside,
And miss the glory of eternal day!
